What is labor and professional performance?

Whether you're working or not, you've heard of work performance, labor or professional.
academic performance
The Real Academy defines professional performance, also called productivity, as the relationship between what is produced and the means used for it, such as manpower, energy or time, but also knowledge. However, there is another definition such as the relationship between the objectives, goals, tasks achieved and the quality hours used to achieve it. Next we will explain how work performance is evaluated.

How to measure labor and professional performance?

The objective evaluation of the worker's professional performance aims to know the degree of real labor performance of each individual, and if his labor effort is being carried out in the appropriate direction.
This type of evaluation is done to make decisions about many issues, as well as to investigate and optimize processes. In addition, they can also provide information about skills, strengths and weaknesses and needs that, subsequently, it is possible to work to enhance or improve said performance and the well-being of the workers. That is, they serve to measure and see how we can achieve greater labor performance.
There are many techniques to evaluate the professional performance of an employee, which are divided into two groups:
Evaluation of labor performance
Objectives: in this group of techniques we can find production measures, computer monitoring or use personal data related to work, such as, for example, absenteeism, but as their own number indicates, they are objective and important variables can be missed.
Subjective: this group includes techniques in which it is evaluated based on work behavior, for example using performance reports or merit assessment techniques, including management based on the objectives achieved. These can be very destructive depending on how they approach.
In my opinion, the human factor should not be left out of these evaluations, so the skills and characteristics of each worker would have to be taken into account for the performance of their work, as it would directly affect their work performance.

Tips to improve work or professional performance

If what you want is to increase the labor performance of your workers and that this is reflected in the professional evaluations but above all in their satisfaction and motivation to go to work every day and give their best, it is more than necessary that there is a good working environment, where everyone feels comfortable and valued. For that reason it is a good idea to recognize the work that is done, as well as to make sure that the worker is motivated and occupies the right place according to his skills.
It is also a very good idea to establish objectives, because these are the road map and what will help to establish priorities and an organization regarding the tasks that need to be carried out to reach said objectives. For this, it would be ideal for the workers to feel involved in these objectives, since in this way they would feel committed and would go to work with more energy and less pressure.
From a very young age we have been taught that we are better or worse according to the result we get, the grade we got or who won the game, but today this is very outdated. When she was studying at the university, the father of a friend told us "you can't ask for more from someone who tries hard", but of course we weren't satisfied with passing, which was silly when the important thing was to do things well without pressure and learn and learn. Even though I don't like all the subjects, I was happy in my university years when I discovered this. The same happens in the workplace.
Without stopping to go to work unless there is a superior reason and without leaving things pending on what has priority every day as something normal, currently I do not measure myself 100% in the workplace every day equally. This is called responsibility and commitment to work and to yourself. From my point of view, going to work would mean being responsible, being committed, receiving less external pressure and not overdoing self-demanding, since these last two instead of enhancing both academic and work performance slow it down in the form of physical, mental and emotional fatigue.
